APC 2017

apc17

On the 18th of February 2017, students and professionals from across the country were welcomed to UEA for the second Alternative Pharmacy Careers (APC) conference. Since the first conference back in January 2016, the student led conference committee came together to source 9 inspiring speakers from a variety of alternative pharmacy backgrounds, who shared their knowledge and enthusiasm with 150 delegates. Alongside the keynote speakers, Steve Howard and Simon Gaisford, the day saw 6 breakout sessions, addressing an assortment of areas such as medical writing and veterinary pharmacy. Delegates were given the opportunity to grab a bite to eat and network with company stands, including the British Army and AstraZeneca. Emma Fielding, a second year pharmacy student at UEA and Chair of the committee was delighted with how well the day went saying “ the team has been committed from day one to deliver the conference to such a high standard and I think that is proven by the success of the day.”

As the conference in 2016 was such a huge success, we will be continuing the conference into 2017! The date is set for the 18th of February and will be held in the same venue as last year, so save the date in your diaries! We
are thrilled to have 6 confirmed speakers already with more to be announced. Check out the poster for #APCconf17 bellow and register you interest by clicking the link. By registering your interest you will be the first to know when early bird discounted tickets go on sale!

We understand that each student will be attracted to this event for individual reasons, perhaps you have just begun your Pharmacy degree and are unaware of all the exciting opportunities a Pharmacy degree can lead to. It might be that you’re a student in your third or final year, whose varying placements have left you unsure and indecisive.
